In this key role, you will bridge business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that our development teams focus on delivering the highest value to our customers and patients.
Your Role
You own and continuously prioritize the product backlog, ensuring the development team is always focused on the highest-value topics
You translate stakeholder input from Product Management and R&D into a clear product roadmap and software platform vision, and you break down features and requirements into actionable development items, such as epics and user stories
You prepare, plan, and prioritize Program Increment (PI) backlogs, align priorities across teams, and coordinate PI Planning with technical Product Owners and other steering functions to create transparency regarding objectives, risks, and dependencies
You closely collaborate with the Program Lead and Release Train Engineer (RTE) to ensure release candidates are available in the required environments and that verification and testing activities are considered holistically throughout the product lifecycle
You own the product requirements documentation and, together with the development team, ensure all software-related documentation is derived accordingly, including architecture and component-level requirements
By applying agile principles, you actively involve developers early in the requirements definition process
You align with delivery and program management stakeholders to ensure timely releases while maintaining compliance with medical device regulations, cybersecurity requirements, penetration testing, DPIA, CSA, and other regulatory and legal standards
You report progress along defined value streams to key stakeholders and steering committees, act as the first escalation level for impediments, and provide technical leadership through coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, and decision guidance
Your Profile
You hold a master’s degree in computer science, Informatics, Electronics, Bioengineering, or a comparable field
You have extensive professional experience in technically leading software development teams and have ideally worked as a Product Owner within an agile development environment
You possess strong moderation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills and can adapt communication effectively to management, technical experts, and business stakeholders
You have a solid understanding of modern software engineering approaches, including embedded software development, Systems Engineering, MBSE, or comparable methodologies
You have extensive experience with agile software development practices and scaled agile frameworks.
Your professional background includes hands-on technical roles such as Software Architect, Senior Software Developer, Systems Engineer, or similar positions, enabling you to effectively guide technical discussions and decisions
You have experience with SAFe® as well as a Product Owner certification from a recognized provider, combined with the active application of these methodologies in your daily work, would be considered a strong advantage
You communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. German language skills at B2 level or higher are considered an advantage
