Sr. IT Security Analyst

This hands-on cybersecurity role plays a key part in strengthening and evolving enterprise security posture across cloud and on-premises environments. You will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats while ensuring compliance with major regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA. The role combines operational security work with strategic improvement of vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and incident response processes. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure, engineering, and business teams to implement secure configurations and reduce organizational risk. In addition to defending systems, you will help mature security frameworks, policies, and detection capabilities. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and security challenges are constantly emerging.
Accountabilities:
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security alerts across multiple security platforms while tuning detection rules to reduce false positives and improve accuracy.
- Lead and support the full vulnerability management lifecycle, including scanning, prioritization, remediation coordination, and validation of fixes.
- Conduct threat intelligence analysis to identify emerging risks and ensure timely awareness of relevant vulnerabilities and attack trends.
- Participate in incident response activities, including detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Perform web application security assessments and guide development teams in implementing effective remediation strategies.
- Ensure security controls are properly deployed, configured, and aligned with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to develop and enforce secure system configurations, standards, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate security documentation and contribute to ongoing improvements in security processes and organizational resilience.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity operations, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of information security principles, frameworks, and regulatory standards such as HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, including scanning tools, risk prioritization, and remediation workflows.
- Familiarity with web application security concepts, including OWASP Top 10 and common exploitation techniques.
- Experience working with security tools and platforms such as SIEMs, endpoint protection, IAM, Active Directory, and cloud security solutions.
- Experience participating in incident response or security operations teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to explain risks and solutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment and contribute to after-hours or on-call security support when required.
- Security certifications such as Security+, GSEC, CySA+, or CISSP are preferred.
