Senior Security Engineer

This role focuses on strengthening and evolving the security posture of large-scale hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises environments and major cloud platforms. You will be responsible for implementing, operating, and continuously improving security controls across infrastructure, applications, and identity systems. The position requires a hands-on approach to vulnerability management, incident response, and cloud security operations, ensuring risks are identified, prioritized, and effectively mitigated. You will work closely with IT operations, engineering, and product teams to embed security best practices into daily operations and system design. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly contributes to protecting critical systems, data, and users. Accountabilities
- Deploy, configure, and optimize security controls across on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Identify, assess, prioritize, and track vulnerabilities across infrastructure, applications, and cloud workloads
- Partner with engineering and IT teams to drive remediation efforts and validate security fixes
- Manage cloud security configurations including IAM roles, security groups, and workload protections
- Support identity and access management processes, including SSO, MFA, and privileged access controls
- Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and post-incident analysis
- Maintain and improve endpoint protection, firewall configurations, and other infrastructure security controls
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, Terraform, or similar technologies to improve security operations
- Support compliance initiatives by gathering audit evidence and ensuring alignment with standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2
- 4–6 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, infrastructure security, or related roles
- Hands-on experience securing at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, endpoint protection, and system hardening
- Experience managing IAM systems, including identity providers such as Okta or Azure AD
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell and/or Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience in vulnerability management, risk assessment, and remediation tracking
- Familiarity with incident response processes and security operations workflows
- Strong communication skills with ability to document technical processes and explain security risks clearly
- Certifications such as Security+, GSEC, GCIH, or cloud security certifications are a plus
