What You'll Do:
Vulnerability management is becoming one of the highest-leverage security domains of the agentic era, and most programs are about to be left behind. Code is shipping faster than ever, attackers are using AI to find and weaponize CVEs at machine speed, and the gap between disclosure and exploitation keeps shrinking. Human-paced triage and ticket-routing cannot keep up with that curve. The programs that win will be the ones that treat VM as an engineering problem and build systems that detect, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities autonomously across the stack.
CoreWeave runs that stack from firmware to application layer, across bare metal and Kubernetes-native infrastructure at hyperscale. The attack surface is as technically novel as it is complex, built on the most advanced AI infrastructure in the world, with failure modes that don't exist anywhere else yet. We're not here to match the state of the art in vulnerability management. We're here to set it.
We're hiring a Senior Manager, Vulnerability Management to build the next generation of that program. This is an engineering role first. You will be highly technical and hands-on, stay deep in the details alongside your team, and own outcomes end to end. You'll be a strong partner to engineering and the face of VM to the rest of the business. If you want to manage a queue and chase SLOs through spreadsheets, this is not the role. If you want to build a VM program that operates at machine speed and sets the bar for the industry, read on.
In this role, you will:
- Architecting and building an agentic vulnerability management capability: systems that ingest signal across the fleet, reason about real exploitability and blast radius in our environment, and drive remediation with minimal human intervention
- Using AI and automation to collapse the time from detection to fix, measuring success on vulnerabilities actually closed rather than tickets opened
- Partnering directly with platform, infrastructure, hardware, and product engineering to land fixes and build the paved roads and tooling that let teams remediate themselves
- Setting the technical direction for how we prioritize risk at scale, and building the data and instrumentation to back it
- Making the hard calls on what actually matters in our environment versus what is noise
- Owning the program's policies and SLOs too, even though this is an engineering role first, and keeping them lean and grounded in how remediation actually works rather than how it looks on paper
- Hiring and growing a high-performing, high-impact team of engineers who build, while keeping your own hands on the work
- Acting as the face of VM to the rest of the business
Who You Are:
- 8+ years in security, including at least 3 years leading and growing engineering teams
- Built and run a vulnerability management program at real scale, with the systems to show for it and not just the policies
- Comfortable in code and on the command line, fluent in Linux at scale
- Strong grasp of CVE identification and remediation across large, heterogeneous infrastructure, including containerized and Kubernetes-native environments
- Systems thinker who favors durable automation over heroics and one-off fixes
- Able to risk-assess a vulnerability in context, separate critical from cosmetic, and drive cross-team remediation without relying on positional authority
- Scrappy, takes deep ownership, and moves fast in ambiguity without waiting for a runbook
- Genuinely excited about applying AI and agentic approaches to security, with informed opinions on where it works, where it doesn't, and where the failure modes hide
Preferred:
- Experience designing and shipping security automation or agentic systems in production
- Strong infrastructure and distributed systems background
- Familiarity with the realities of patching and remediation across bare metal, firmware, and large GPU fleets
- Track record of building tooling that other engineers actually adopt
Wondering if you're a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match.
