Senior Manager, Information System Security

This leadership role sits at the core of enterprise information security, ensuring the protection, resilience, and compliance of critical information systems supporting large-scale operations. You will oversee the development and execution of security programs covering risk management, incident response, system monitoring, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on governance of security operations, including threat identification, vulnerability management, and system hardening. You will play a key role in shaping security awareness across the organization through training, policies, and procedural development. Working in a highly collaborative and mission-driven environment, you will coordinate across IT, operations, and leadership teams to ensure security is embedded into every layer of the infrastructure. This position offers significant influence over enterprise-wide security strategy, operational readiness, and long-term cyber resilience.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of enterprise information system security programs, including policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Oversee security awareness, training, and education initiatives for system users, administrators, and organizational stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and document system vulnerabilities and local threat landscapes, ensuring proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage incident response processes, ensuring proper investigation, reporting, and remediation of security breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Supervise periodic security self-inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked effectively.
- Oversee implementation of authentication mechanisms, access controls, and security features to protect systems and data integrity.
- Ensure deployment of tools and controls for malware detection, intrusion prevention, and system monitoring.
- Develop and maintain secure procedures for handling, transporting, storing, and disposing of sensitive or classified information and media.
- Coordinate security efforts across facility-level and enterprise security programs to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Lead and develop security teams, including hiring, training, performance management, and professional development.
- Manage security program budgets, resource allocation, and operational planning in alignment with organizational priorities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in information security, systems administration, or related technical disciplines.
- 8+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing security teams or enterprise programs.
- Strong expertise in information security frameworks, network security, operating systems, and system architecture.
- Experience managing incident response, vulnerability management, and enterprise security operations.
- Knowledge of authentication systems, endpoint protection, malware detection, and intrusion prevention technologies.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, regulated, and mission-critical environment.
- CISSP certification preferred or equivalent security credentials strongly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical teams.
