Senior IAM Engineer: IBM Verify

This is a senior technical engineering role focused on designing, implementing, and operating enterprise-grade identity and access management solutions using the IBM Verify ecosystem. You will work across SaaS, hybrid, and on-premises environments, building secure and scalable identity platforms that support authentication, federation, and lifecycle governance at enterprise scale. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in architecture and deployment, not just administration, with direct ownership of complex IAM infrastructures. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of identity services, from design and implementation to automation, performance tuning, and operational resilience. Working in a highly technical environment, you will collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless and secure access across systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical identity platforms supporting large-scale enterprise ecosystems. It is fully remote but requires candidates to be based in India.

Accountabilities:

• Design, deploy, and operate IBM Verify (SaaS and Identity Access) environments across enterprise hybrid architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
• Implement and configure identity infrastructure components including reverse proxy, web and API gateways, junctions, and containerized deployments on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Build and manage authentication and federation capabilities using SAML, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0 across workforce and consumer applications.
• Configure and maintain SSO, MFA (including passwordless and adaptive authentication), and risk-based access policies.
• Integrate IBM Verify with enterprise systems such as Active Directory, HR platforms, and cloud directories using SCIM, APIs, and connectors.
• Design and support identity governance processes including RBAC, access certification campaigns, and segregation-of-duties controls.
• Architect high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization for self-managed components.
• Develop automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines for deployment, provisioning, and configuration management.
• Produce architecture documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for support teams.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on IAM engineering experience, with strong expertise in IBM Verify, IBM ISAM, or IBM Identity Access solutions.
• Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end IBM Verify environments in enterprise production settings.
• Strong knowledge of identity federation protocols including SAML, OIDC, and OAuth 2.0.
• Experience implementing SSO, MFA, adaptive authentication, and identity orchestration workflows.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Verify Identity Access, including reverse proxy, junctions, and hybrid deployments.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift for containerized identity workloads.
• Solid understanding of Active Directory, enterprise directories, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of identity governance concepts such as RBAC, certification, and segregation of duties.
• Strong Linux administration and scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar).
• Experience in troubleshooting complex distributed IAM systems and working in production environments.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
