OCI Cloud Architect – Contract to Hire role

This is a senior, hands-on architecture role focused on designing and delivering enterprise-grade Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions for mission-critical workloads. You will operate as the primary technical authority across client engagements, shaping cloud strategies and leading end-to-end solution design for complex migrations and modernizations. The role spans Oracle Database systems, enterprise applications, and next-generation AI and data platforms on OCI. You will work closely with client teams and Oracle specialists to define scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud architectures. This is a highly technical position with no management responsibilities, ideal for an expert practitioner who thrives in deep architectural and implementation work. The environment is fast-paced, client-facing, and focused on delivering production-ready cloud solutions at scale.

Accountabilities:

• Architect and deliver end-to-end OCI solutions covering landing zones, networking, identity, compute, storage, and database layers for enterprise clients.
• Lead Oracle Database migrations to OCI, including Exadata Cloud Service, Autonomous Database, and Base Database Service, ensuring high availability, performance, and disaster recovery.
• Design and execute migrations for Oracle enterprise applications such as EBS, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards using lift-and-shift and modernization approaches.
• Develop AI and data platform architectures leveraging OCI GenAI Services, AI Agents, Oracle Data Science, and advanced database capabilities such as 23ai Vector Search.
• Build infrastructure-as-code landing zones using Terraform and OCI Resource Manager aligned with Oracle CIS standards and best practices.
• Create and present reference architectures, technical designs, and migration runbooks for both pre-sales and delivery engagements.
• Collaborate with Oracle engineering teams and act as the technical escalation point for complex OCI architecture and delivery challenges.
• Define reusable architectural patterns, standards, and governance frameworks to improve OCI delivery consistency and scalability.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud architecture, or customer-facing technical consulting roles.
• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Strong expertise in OCI core services including networking (VCNs, FastConnect, DRG), compute, storage, and IAM.
• Proven experience migrating Oracle Databases using technologies such as Data Guard, GoldenGate, Data Pump, and Exadata platforms.
• Experience with Oracle enterprise application migrations (EBS, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards) in OCI environments.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML and data platforms, including OCI GenAI, AI Agents, and Oracle Database 23ai vector capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and OCI Resource Manager for building scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes (OKE), multi-cloud connectivity, observability tools, and enterprise-grade cloud operations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present architectures and engage in client-facing discussions.
• Preferred certifications include OCI Architect Associate/Professional and Oracle GenAI certifications.
