As the Network Security Engineer, you will serve as a key technical owner of Enlace’s internal infrastructure, cloud environments, and security posture. This role focuses on building, maintaining, and securing scalable systems across endpoints, identity, networking, and AWS, with an emphasis on operational excellence and proactive risk management. You will work cross-functionally to strengthen reliability, automate workflows, and elevate security practices across the organization. This role is based in Atlanta, GA.
Success Measures:
In 3 months:
Build a strong understanding of Enlace’s systems, cloud architecture, security controls, and operational workflows within a healthcare technology environment.
Take ownership of core systems across identity, endpoints, SaaS tools, and cloud-connected infrastructure.
Begin contributing to infrastructure reliability and security improvements, including access controls, endpoint posture, and system visibility.
Develop working knowledge of Enlace’s AWS environment, networking architecture, and security configurations.
In 6 months:
- Independently manage and improve systems across endpoints, identity, SaaS, networking, and AWS infrastructure.
- Strengthen security posture through implementation and enforcement of best practices across access management, endpoint security, and network controls.
- Contribute to cloud and network architecture decisions, including firewall configurations, access policies, and segmentation.
- Partner with engineering and external vendors to improve system performance, scalability, and security.
- Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and incident response readiness.
In 12 months:
- Be recognized as a trusted technical owner of internal infrastructure and security operations.
- Lead initiatives that improve system reliability, scalability, and security maturity across cloud and internal environments.
- Contribute to DevOps and SecOps practices, including automation, infrastructure as code, and security tooling optimization.
- Enhance organizational readiness for audits, compliance requirements, and security incident response.
Responsibilities:
- Design, manage, and improve internal systems across endpoints, identity platforms, SaaS tools, and cloud infrastructure.
- Administer and optimize AWS environments, including IAM, networking, and system connectivity.
- Configure and manage cloud networking components such as VPCs, subnets, routing, and connectivity between systems.
- Implement and maintain firewall rules, network segmentation, and access controls across cloud and corporate environments.
- Strengthen security posture through endpoint protection, access governance, vulnerability management, and monitoring.
- Partner with engineering teams to support DevOps practices, including system reliability, deployment workflows, and infrastructure improvements.
- Contribute to security operations, including incident detection, response, escalation, and post-incident analysis.
- Build and maintain documentation for systems, architecture, processes, and security controls.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across provisioning, system management, and security workflows.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security signals, proactively addressing risks and inefficiencies.
- Support compliance and audit readiness in a regulated healthcare environment.
Position Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, security operations, or a related technical role.
- Strong experience managing cloud environments, preferably AWS, including IAM, networking, and system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking concepts, including VPC design, subnets, routing, VPNs, and connectivity.
- Experience configuring and managing firewalls, network security controls, and access policies.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, including endpoint security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Experience with identity and access platforms such as Okta and Microsoft 365, including access governance and lifecycle management.
- Experience with endpoint management tools such as Jamf or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices such as automation, scripting, infrastructure as code, or CI/CD workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting and systems thinking across cloud, networking, and application layers.
- Ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and drive technical initiatives forward.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CCSP, SSCP, Security+, or similar) are a plus.
- Experience in healthcare, health tech, or regulated environments is a plus.
- Based in Atlanta, GA and able to work from our Buckhead office a minimum of 3 days per week.
