Job Description – OT Security Operations Manager

Position Summary

The OT Security Operations Manager will be responsible for leading Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity operations across manufacturing environments. The role focuses on strengthening the organization's OT security posture by managing security technologies, coordinating incident response, driving governance, collaborating with manufacturing stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

OT Security Operations

  • Manage day-to-day OT security operations across manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor, assess, and coordinate response to OT security events in collaboration with the BAU Security Operations team.
  • Ensure timely investigation, containment, and remediation of OT security incidents.
  • Drive continuous improvement of OT cybersecurity processes and operational effectiveness.

Security Platform Management

  • Administer and optimize the following OT security platforms:
    • Claroty xDome
    • Claroty Secure Remote Access (SRA)
    • Cylance Protect Antivirus (AV)
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and coverage.
  • Implement new features, policy updates, and security enhancements.

Risk Management & Reporting

  • Perform periodic OT security risk assessments across manufacturing environments.
  • Prepare and present:
    • Monthly OT Security Dashboard
    • Risk Assessment Reports
    • Risk Scorecards
    • Executive Management and CISO reports
  • Track remediation activities and risk reduction initiatives.

Governance & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with security vendors, technology partners, and OEMs.
  • Conduct regular governance meetings with vendors to review:
    • Product roadmap
    • Open technical issues
    • Security advisories
    • Service performance
  • Participate in Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with product OEMs.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain regular engagement with:
    • Manufacturing Unit Heads
    • Plant Security Leads
    • OT Engineering Teams
    • IT Security Teams
  • Act as the primary OT Security contact for manufacturing sites.
  • Drive alignment between business objectives and OT cybersecurity initiatives.

Business Continuity & Cyber Resilience

  • Lead OT Business Continuity Planning (BCP) initiatives.
  • Plan, execute, and improve OT Cyber Resilience drills.
  • Validate incident recovery procedures and disaster recovery readiness.

Red Team & Security Assessments

  • Participate in Red Team and Purple Team exercises involving OT environments.
  • Coordinate remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Support penetration testing and security validation activities.

Budget & Strategic Planning

  • Participate in annual cybersecurity budgeting exercises.
  • Provide recommendations on:
    • Security technology investments
    • License renewals
    • Capacity planning
    • Security improvement initiatives
  • Support long-term OT cybersecurity strategy and roadmap.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure alignment with applicable OT cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
  • Support implementation of NIS2 requirements and OT-specific security benchmarks.
  • Drive continuous compliance improvements and audit readiness.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Claroty xDome
    • Claroty Secure Remote Access (SRA)
    • Cylance Protect AV
  • Strong knowledge of OT/ICS cybersecurity technologies and architectures.
  • Experience securing Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA, PLC, DCS, and manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of OT network segmentation, asset visibility, threat detection, and remote access security.
  • Experience in OT incident response and threat analysis.
  • Understanding of vulnerability management in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with OT cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443, and NIS2 Directive.

Required Experience

  • 8–12+ years of overall cybersecurity experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Operational Technology (OT) Security.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and executive leadership.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise OT security platforms.

Preferred Certifications

One or more of the following certifications are preferred:

  • Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
  • ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certification
  • GIAC Response and Industrial Defense (GRID)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Claroty Certified Professional (preferred)
  • Any recognized OT Security Certification
