This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.
Your Role
The Lead Information Security Analyst will be a member of the corporate Information Security Cybersecurity team and will specifically oversee and be the subject matter expert for network security. The Lead Analyst will be responsible for executing network assessments and configurations to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, identifying risks, and communicating the posture of network security to various members of CBC/Radio-Canada Management, Committees, Stakeholders and Product Owners.
The analyst provides technological advice and guidance to various groups within CBC/Radio-Canada Technology and various components. Collaborates with Management and Peers on the formulation of long-term strategies for the deployment of Information Security technologies, processes and prepares planning documents as required. As technological change may affect the deployment of resources within organization, maintains strict confidentiality as to the nature and potential impact of such changes within the appropriate Management group.
Coordinates the efforts of professionals within various disciplines throughout the design and implementation processes, ensuring that stakeholders are properly consulted and operational impacts identified. Prepares detailed design documents and commits resources to bring those designs to completion. Ensures that assigned projects are implemented in an optimum manner, on time and within budget.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Education /Experience:
- A university or college degree in the field of computer science, IT or Information Security.
- The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience working within the technical arena including 3 plus years of information security work experience.
Technical and Soft skills:
- Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of security technology and risk assessment methodologies, policies and processes.
- Must have the ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of implementing or assessing security in a cloud hosted environment.
- This individual will have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills including the ability to articulate to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset.
- Strong knowledge and experience with IP network designs and securely designed network infrastructures.
- Ability to scan large networks using vulnerability scan tools or other similar technical methodologies and write risk mitigation plans according to the assessment.
- Requires knowledge in the following areas:
- Network Switches and Routers
- Firewalls
- VPNs
- Routing Protocols
- LANs, WANs and Access Control Lists
- Web Infrastructure Security
- Network Security Tools: IDS/IPS, Firewalls, NDR, etc.
- Internet Filtering Technologies
- Encryption Technologies and Concepts (SSL Certificates)
- Experience in or knowledge of security standards such as ISO 27001, 27002, 27005; NIST, COBIT, ITIL.
- Experience in or knowledge of compliance programs as well as their technical and security requirements.
- Technical certifications within the area Security are a strong plus (CISSP, CRISC, CBCP, CISA, CISM or equivalent).
- Job requires occasional travel for periods up to three days, depending upon project assignments.
