Position: IT Security Operations Analyst
Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid
Location: Markham, ON
Reports to: Director, Security and Infrastructure, IT
The IT Security Operations Analyst is responsible for identity and access management (IAM), backup and disaster recovery (DR), and security operations (SOC). This role ensures confidentiality, integrity, availability, and recoverability of enterprise systems while maintaining audit readiness and compliance. Conducts audits, risk assessments and responsible for ensuring the security of the organization's systems and information assets.
This role is critical, as it involves handling security data, protects against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, and/or destruction. and ensuring that we remain compliant with applicable requirements.
Responsibilities
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Administer Active Directory and Entra ID, manage user lifecycle, RBAC, MFA, and PIM.
Perform access reviews, resolve and restore identity issues, and maintain audit evidence.
Conducts internal and external security audits and performs risk assessments and testing of data processing systems
Assist with audits, compliance activities, risk assessments and data security controls.
They will be responsible for ensuring these activities are carried out in compliance with all applicable requirements.
Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR)
Monitor backup operations, support and perform restore testing, remediate failures, support DR testing, and maintain recovery documentation and runbooks.
Tests and assists in creating and implementing network disaster recovery plans.
This role has end-to-end ownership of the backup and recovery program and is responsible for ensuring its effectiveness, reliability, and compliance with all applicable requirements.
Security Operations (SOC)
Monitor security alerts, support incident response, track vulnerabilities, and assist with threat detection and security monitoring.
Escalate incidents and coordinate with internal teams for resolution and Support incident response.
Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, phishing, and unauthorized access attempts.
Collaborates with the security engineers to determine the best solution to address detected vulnerabilities
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
Support ITGC and audit activities, maintain evidence, ensure traceability, and align with NIST CSF and compliance requirements.
Support development, implementation, and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures.
Participate in internal and external audits; provide evidence and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
University graduation, college diploma, or equivalent practical experience in information technology, infrastructure, backup, or disaster recovery.
5+ years experience in security operations, IAM, or infrastructure.
Experience with AD, Entra ID, backup tools, and security platforms.
Strong documentation and analytical skills.

Compensation
The targeted salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually. The final offer will be based on factors such as market location, relevant skills, experience and internal equity.
