Raptive is building a consumer identity platform from the ground up. We’re looking for an Identity Architect to design and build Raptive ID: the login, profile, preference, consent, and identity foundation that connects Raptive’s consumer experiences across thousands of creator sites, community products, Slickstream search and favorites, and our broader advertising and platform ecosystem.

This is a senior, hands-on technical IC role. You’ll work with engineering, product, security, privacy, legal, and business leaders to turn a fragmented set of identity touchpoints into a unified, secure, privacy-conscious platform. You’ll shape the architecture, evaluate build-vs-buy decisions, prototype solutions, guide implementation, and help establish the technical patterns that make identity a durable capability across Raptive.

The opportunity is to build an identity system that does more than authenticate users. Raptive ID will help users carry their profile, preferences, consent choices, and activity across surfaces, enabling more personalized and useful experiences.

Why this role matters

Identity is foundational to Raptive’s next chapter. Raptive reaches users across thousands of creator sites, consumer products, community experiences, and search and favorites surfaces. Today, those touchpoints create many opportunities to understand and serve users better, but only if identity is built as a secure, privacy-conscious platform capability.

This role will help create that foundation. You’ll have the opportunity to architect and build a strategic system from the beginning, shape technical decisions with long-term company impact, and create the identity infrastructure that powers more personalized, useful, and connected experiences across the Raptive ecosystem.

What you’ll do

  • Design the architecture for Raptive’s consumer identity platform across web, mobile, creator sites, community experiences, on-site assistants, and third-party platform surfaces.

  • Build and guide the implementation of core identity infrastructure, including authentication, account systems, user profiles, preference management, consent, privacy controls, account linking, and identity resolution.

  • Work hands-on to prototype, validate, review, and ship identity platform capabilities.

  • Evaluate third-party identity vendors and services to lead build-vs-buy analysis.

  • Partner with PMs and product teams to translate consumer experience goals into scalable identity architecture and implementation plans.

  • Create standards and patterns for secure login, registration, remembered sessions, passwordless and passkey flows, account recovery, data governance, identity lifecycle management, and preference portability.

  • Help unify Raptive’s existing identity ecosystem, including consumer account identity, on-site identity, community identity, and publisher/adtech identity signals.

  • Provide technical direction across engineering teams that own different surfaces, ensuring identity is implemented consistently.

  • Partner closely with security, legal, privacy, and compliance stakeholders so privacy, consent, and regulatory requirements are designed into the platform from the beginning.

  • Leverage agentic coding workflows to accelerate exploration, prototyping, documentation, implementation, and developer productivity.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the job

  • Significant experience architecting, building, and scaling consumer identity systems across web and/or mobile products.

  • Deep technical knowledge of modern identity architecture, including authentication, authorization, OAUTH, OIDC, SSO, session management, account linking, identity resolution, passwordless authentication, and passkeys.

  • Hands-on engineering ability. You should be comfortable prototyping, reviewing implementation details, working through technical tradeoffs, and contributing directly when needed.

  • Comfort using AI-assisted and agentic development tools to accelerate prototyping, implementation, testing, documentation, and developer productivity.

  • Experience making pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions and integrating third-party identity platforms into complex production systems.

  • Strong understanding of security, privacy, consent, regulatory, and data protection considerations related to consumer identity.

  • Experience designing systems that support personalization, user profiles, preferences, privacy controls, consent management, and cross-surface user experiences.

  • Experience operating at scale across multiple products, data sources, user touchpoints, and integration points.

  • Proven success in fast-moving startup environments, with the ability to create clarity, make pragmatic decisions, and ship quickly amid ambiguity.

  • Ability to influence without direct authority, align senior stakeholders, and provide technical direction across multiple engineering and product teams.

  • Familiarity with publisher, advertising, or adtech identity systems is a plus, including hashed emails, PPIDs, shared IDs, cookieless identity frameworks, and identity resolution.
