At Tortus we work with clinicians and hospitals to provide clinically safe and reliable AI. We use speech-to-text and LLM models to infer information about a patient visit and provide verified documentation and actions — eliminating the documentation burden that costs clinicians hours every day.
We've recorded over 1 million consultations. Clients include London Ambulance Service and a large proportion of UK GP surgeries. We are now entering our next phase: an AI doctor product and a ~£30M Series A raise.
Same generalist full-stack profile as our Full-stack Engineer role, but designed for an engineer who is energised by the combination of technically complex integration work and direct customer and partner engagement. You will spend significant time in front of clients — not as a sales function, but as the technical authority making integrations work.
This is not for everyone. The work can be integration-heavy by nature. But if you find satisfaction in making complex systems talk to each other reliably, and enjoy the human dimension of doing that in partnership with external teams, this is an excellent fit.
Own and deliver technical integrations with healthcare partners and enterprise clients end-to-end
Serve as primary technical point of contact for partners during and after integration
Diagnose and resolve integration issues in real time, often in customer-facing settings
Translate partner requirements into clean, maintainable integration code
Feed partner and client technical feedback back into product and engineering
Contribute to integration tooling and repeatable patterns
Same generalist full-stack profile as Full-stack Engineer role
Genuine comfort in customer and partner-facing settings — you can run a technical meeting with a hospital IT team and enjoy doing it
High EQ and strong communication; you build trust quickly
Experience with systems integration: APIs, data pipelines; HL7/FHIR a strong plus
Resilience navigating legacy systems and organisational complexity
Experience in healthtech or enterprise software integration
Familiarity with NHS or US healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, SMART on FHIR)
Prior solutions engineering or technical account management experience
In 12–18 months, you are the person NHS trusts and enterprise clients ask for by name. You have delivered integrations that are clean, well-documented, and maintainable — not just working. You have fed enough partner insight back into the product that the team builds things differently because of what you've seen in the field.
Forward Deployed Engineers with strong track records can move into solutions engineering leadership, partnerships, or product roles with deep domain expertise. The clinical and enterprise context you build here is genuinely rare and commercially valuable.
