DevSecOps Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer based in India.

This role sits at the heart of modern cloud-native security and platform engineering, where you will design and secure scalable AWS environments that power critical digital products. You will go beyond maintaining pipelines to actively shaping secure infrastructure through Terraform-based architecture, IAM governance, and network security enforcement. The position blends DevOps automation with strong security engineering, ensuring systems are resilient, observable, and compliant by design. You will also contribute to standardizing SDLC practices and improving developer experience across engineering teams. Working closely with platform and application engineers, you will help embed security into every stage of delivery. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a fast-moving engineering environment focused on automation, reliability, and secure-by-default systems.

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure using Terraform, including modular architecture, state management, and cross-environment provisioning.
• Implement and enforce security best practices across IAM, networking, and application layers, including least-privilege access and defense-in-depth controls.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for serverless and frontend applications, ensuring secure and efficient deployments.
• Build and maintain observability frameworks including CloudWatch dashboards, logging, alerting, and automated incident detection mechanisms.
• Strengthen SDLC practices by defining standards, improving developer workflows, and enabling secure AI-assisted development tooling.
• Create and maintain operational documentation such as runbooks, deployment guides, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security controls into application and platform architecture from the ground up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or DevSecOps roles.
• Strong hands-on expertise in AWS, including serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway), networking (VPC, CloudFront, WAF), and event-driven systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform, including complex state handling, module design, and zero-drift infrastructure deployments.
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, security policies, service roles, network security, and application-layer protections.
• Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows and automation patterns.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, with experience managing serverless packaging and dependencies.
• Deep security-first mindset with the ability to design and enforce secure-by-default cloud architectures.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in cross-functional engineering environments.
