Cybersecurity Intern
Summary
The Cybersecurity Intern is responsible for supporting the Arete Security Operation Center (SOC) in all monitoring, detection, and response efforts for Incident Response (IR) and Managed Defense/Response (MDR) clients.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Reviews alerts in SentinelOne and escalate when necessary
- Submits and analyzes payloads using JoeSandbox, and escalate when necessary
- Monitors clients in FreshDesk as part of the Client Handling Lifecycle (Phase 3: Continuous Monitoring)
- Creates user accounts in the SentinelOne portal for the client
- Generates Threat Reports
- Generates “Pending Reboot” reports to ensure complete SentinelOne coverage
- Executes passphrase exports
- Submits legacy installer requests
- Provides timely alert notifications to the IR Team of any malicious activity impacting our clients
- Contributes to the overall documentation of SOC processes and procedures
- May perform other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Knowledge
- Fundamental understanding of Windows and Unix internals
- Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP and OSI Model
- Fundamental understanding of Incident Response (Preparation, Identification, Containment, Eradication, Recovery, Lesson Learned)
- Fundamental understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security or related field
- Fresher/1 year of IT/Cybersecurity experience
