Cybersecurity Analyst, IT Operations

As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a critical role in protecting enterprise systems, sensitive information, and regulated environments from evolving cyber threats. This position combines security operations, compliance management, incident response, and vulnerability remediation to support a strong and resilient security posture. Working closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, you will help ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks while safeguarding sensitive data and maintaining audit readiness. Accountabilities:
- Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of security controls aligned with federal compliance frameworks, including NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and CMMC requirements.
- Monitor enterprise security tools and systems, investigate alerts, perform incident triage, and contribute to effective incident response activities.
- Maintain and secure Windows-based environments, including servers, endpoints, Active Directory, and associated infrastructure, while supporting Linux-based systems where applicable.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, analyze findings, prioritize remediation efforts, and track corrective actions based on risk and compliance impact.
- Support the protection, storage, processing, and handling of sensitive information, including Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- Enforce data classification standards, access controls, and data protection procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with IT operations, system administrators, and business stakeholders to strengthen security controls and address operational risks.
- Participate in internal and external audits, assessments, and compliance reviews by gathering evidence, validating controls, and maintaining documentation.
- Develop and maintain security procedures, technical documentation, and compliance records to support audit readiness and operational effectiveness.
- Communicate security risks, recommendations, and remediation strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences while promoting cybersecurity awareness across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, systems administration, network security, risk management, or a related technical field.
- Experience supporting security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, compliance programs, or security engineering within enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or similar compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity technologies such as SIEM platforms, endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, vulnerability management solutions, identity and access management systems, firewalls, and multifactor authentication technologies.
- Experience analyzing security logs, investigating incidents, and utilizing vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Tenable, or equivalent platforms.
- Understanding of data classification, sensitive information protection, and secure handling of FCI, CUI, and other regulated data types.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate security concepts to diverse audiences.
- Relevant industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, CySA+, CEH, or equivalent credentials are highly valued.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility for access to sensitive information, including successful completion of required background investigations.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
