AGE Solutions is seeking an experienced COMSEC Management Specialist to support our DoD customer at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position supports the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) COMSEC Controlling Authority and is responsible for the lifecycle management of cryptographic keying material supporting secure DoD communications. The selected candidate will work closely with Government stakeholders, COMSEC account managers, network engineers, telecommunications personnel, and other mission partners to ensure the timely and accurate distribution, accountability, and lifecycle management of cryptographic keying material supporting the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN). The successful candidate will process COMSEC requests, maintain accountability of cryptographic assets, coordinate key distribution activities, validate circuit requirements, and ensure compliance with NSA, DoD, and DISA COMSEC policies, procedures, and security requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support day-to-day operations of the DISN COMSEC Controlling Authority.
  • Process 1000, 5000, and 9000 Series COMSEC requests within established service-level objectives.
  • Review Telecommunications Service Orders (TSOs) to identify Command and Control Switching Decisions (CCSDs), VPN IDs, device locations, supported programs, and associated circuit information.
  • Prepare and submit COMSEC key issuance (1000 Series), cancellation (5000 Series), and administrative change (9000 Series) requests.
  • Prepare monthly Circuit Validation Reports and support annual updates to the Cryptographic Support SOP and Key Management Support Plan.
  • Coordinate modern key distribution requests through the warehouse and traditional key requests through T1.
  • Maintain comprehensive accountability records and inventory of cryptographic keying material and associated assets.
  • Validate circuit disconnects and update inventory records to reflect changes in key distribution.
  • Coordinate with COMSEC accounts to verify clearance requirements and ensure proper transfer of keying material.
  • Maintain the Cryptographic Key Management Support Plan and assist with updates to the Cryptographic Support Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform monthly validation of DISN circuits requiring annual review to verify continued operational need.
  • Conduct annual reviews and updates of COMSEC SOPs and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
  • Coordinate with Government personnel, network engineers, telecommunications providers, network operations centers, installation support personnel, and commercial transport vendors to ensure timely implementation of COMSEC requirements.
  • Support Government inspections, audits, inventory reconciliation, and compliance activities.
  • Maintain required COMSEC training and certifications necessary to support the DISN COMSEC Controlling Authority.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting DoD Communications Security (COMSEC) operations.
  • Experience serving as a COMSEC Custodian, Alternate COMSEC Custodian, or COMSEC Account Manager supporting DoD COMSEC operations.
  • Completion of NSA COMSEC Custodian (or COMSEC Account Manager) training, or the ability to obtain required COMSEC training upon hire.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications and training required to support the DISN COMSEC Controlling Authority.
  • Working knowledge of NSA and DoD COMSEC policies, procedures, and accountability requirements.
  • Experience processing COMSEC key management requests and maintaining controlled cryptographic inventories.
  • Experience reviewing Telecommunications Service Orders (TSOs) and supporting telecommunications or network infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple Government organizations and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) or more years supporting DoD COMSEC operations.
  • Experience supporting the DISA COMSEC Controlling Authority.
  • Experience supporting the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN).
  • Experience with:
    • Key Management Infrastructure (KMI)
    • Electronic Key Management System (EKMS)
    • Local COMSEC Management Software (LCMS)
  • Experience supporting enterprise cryptographic key management programs.
  • Familiarity with DISA telecommunications provisioning and circuit management processes.
  • Experience supporting NSA or DISA inspections and COMSEC audits.
  • Experience supporting enterprise COMSEC key distribution and lifecycle management within a DISN or large-scale DoD communications environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • This position is performed onsite at Fort Meade, MD, during normal core business hours. Individuals must reside within a commutable distance of Fort Meade, MD in order to work onsite full time.
  • This work is primarily performed in a secure office environment supporting classified COMSEC operations.
  • The position requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and handling controlled cryptographic materials and associated documentation.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or COMSEC materials up to 25 pounds may be required.

The projected salary range for this position is $115,000+ annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including years of relevant experience, active security clearance level, certifications, technical skillset, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
